Digital Tools Are Transforming Occupational Health and Safety

Construction company POLATI has implemented its own IT platform for occupational health and safety. Following a pilot phase, the system was rolled out across all company sites in 2025. The solution was developed by Kirill Radkevich from the Department of Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection.

Using a mobile application, HSE staff record violations directly on site. The data is then fed into a centralized database and used for analysis and decision-making aimed at reducing workplace injuries — both at individual sites and across the whole company.

All violations are classified by risk level, taking into account both the likelihood and severity of potential consequences. Critical cases are automatically escalated to the corresponding project manager for immediate action, up to and including suspension of work. Data analysis is conducted in real time.

“Today, the company operates simultaneously at dozens of industrial sites. At this scale, digital tools enable faster identification of violations and more efficient risk response,” says Alexander Kazakov, Director of the Department of Occupational Health, Industrial Safety, and Environmental Protection.

In parallel, the company operates an ERP system for personnel management, covering training, medical examinations, and employee movement between sites. The system has been in use since 2021, and the company’s in-house IT team continues its development.
