189POLATI performed a complex of works at the facility: integration of the under-construction BCS with the OTBC, concreting of foundations, installation of metal structures and equipment, application of fireproof coating, and insulation works. At the BLS plant, scaffolding was installed to connect the operating production facility with the booster compressor station. Due to the increased concentration of hydrocarbons, work was carried out in compliance with strict safety requirements — without phones, watches, or other ignition sources.
November 2022 became a key stage of the project: December 7th was scheduled for the gas startup via the first two lines and the flare system, and December 21st — for the ceremonial flare lighting with the participation of the customer, "Gazprom", the Governor of Sakhalin, and federal media. In this regard, POLATI specialists switched to a two-shift work schedule, ensuring the timely installation of structures and site preparation. Despite harsh weather conditions (wet snow, strong wind), the schedule was maintained.
Before startup, all employees underwent safety briefings for work in high-risk areas. Engineering staff received additional training in electronic work permit processing, as required by the conditions of Pre-commissioning and operation. On December 9th, gas was successfully started up via the first two lines, and the flare unit and compressor turbines were tested and commissioned.
